The Short Life of Beautiful Things

by David Peck - Libra

A sunrise lasts but a few moments
The flower loses its petals
Lightning flashes for only a second
Butterflies move to another field

All of these things we are to enjoy
They are here, then they vanish
So when you find beauty in this life
Hold on tight, before it is gone

Reason for writing:

Classic story of guy liking girl, but not getting up the courage to say anything. Alas, the girl hooks up with a different guy, and you end up with nothing but a sad poem to put on paper. =)
