Star-Child

by E. L. Wright - Capricorn

Sad girl
Sitting watching a waning moon
As though it will soon
Reveal her futures path.
Icy torch of lycanthropy
Evokes in her a potent fantasy.

Sad girl
Eternally lonely, sombre
She can’t remember
When she last was happy.
While the Moon holds court high above
Her own throne is blighted, princess unloved.

Sad girl
Gazing as her star friends fly free
All she longs to be
Is all too far away.
Heavenly Moon is calling her
Pure, resplendent, she can’t fight its allure.

Sad girl
Smiles as the dark eases her pain
Twelve pills numb the brain –
The Moon much closer now.
A star-child, purely living night,
She fears no longer – only frees her light.

Reason for writing:

Sometimes my own state of mind - the need for a freedom life can't really provide sometimes. How depressing... Comments and constructive criticism VERY welcome...
