Boys Suck (temporary title)

by Jada Andrews - Capricorn

Boys Suck (temporary title)

The boy took my hand and placed
it around his neck like it belonged there
like it had been there for years
and although it did not,
had not,
I let him.
And we danced
we danced like no one was watching
[wonder what my mother would have thought of me then]
And he kissed me and it was ok
because I didn't see it coming
and I smiled and told him I
had virtues, but he could kiss my cheek
because that's tasteful
[even if the dancing wasn't so tasteful]
He said his name was Josh,
20 years old
        [21 in three weeks]
Psychology minor, education degree
[secondary or special ed, I don't remember]
And when I went to get a drink
he was afraid I left him
but I came back,
maybe because of the way he smiled
and told me he's a nice guy
[but aren't they all nice guys?]
And we danced until the place closed
and he asked for my phone number
and I gave it to him,
he said he wanted to do something with me tomorrow
     but he never called
         he never called...

Reason for writing:

Went out dancing one night...met a guy who seemed very nice, and
the rest speaks for itself in the poem. Comments are more than welcome,
as always. =)
