Where am I?

by FireFly - Libra

Where am I-
Space vehicle, ion propulsion-
Hyperspace to the end of the galaxy-
Life support systems on-
Communications, strong-
You have perfect lift-off-

Traveling at light speed-
See nothing except streaks-
Mother in her teens-
Dad at work for his children-
Lifetime’s passing-
No more please-

Where am I-
This blue eagle in space-
I see the rings of alien planets-
Satellites and drifting wreckage-
I’ve forgotten where I was-
See there, the eye of that storm-
The continents spreading everywhere-
In zero gravity, it’s easier to coast-
In the remote regions of nowhere-

If they can’t find me here-
They can’t find me anywhere-
If they can’t find me here-
They don’t want to find me-

Amongst the planets-
Gravity isn’t going to pull me around-
In this orbit-
I’m stabilized; I’m just not coming down-
