Clowns

by Phil Yarborough - Aquarius

I'm asleep and dreaming
Before I'm in my bed
Soft silk sheets, keep my thoughts sweet
And smiling in my head.
On my soft pillow
My head is floating high
With the clowns and with the clouds
Spinning in the sky.
Laughing till my face is full
And my teeth shine oh so bright
My mind is clean, as it's always been
Grinning in mid flight.

I'm awake and aching
Before I've been in bed
Cold morning air, keep my thoughts rare
And frowning in my head.
On my cold bedroom floor
My feet are firmly placed
With the rest and with the mess,
Where my mind will go to waste.
Working till my legs hurt
And my brain is oh so bored,
When I get home, I'll sink in foam
And go where my thoughts have soared.
