a dedication to kurt cobain

by antwan fields - Aries

when they found him in his hotel room
dead, breathing none
a part of rock and roll died with him
try and deny it
"a mulatto, an albino, a mosquito, my libido," he screamed
with dave grohl in the back
as they yelled out their songs
to the expectant throngs
not even kurt knew
what was about to happen
courtney drove him off the edge
that bitch
grohl never said a thing
kurt did what kurt wanted
and now he's gone
to that great concert in the sky
can you imagine what's going on?
seattle, be proud
of your native son
cause even though nirvana is defunct
we all won
cause we got to hear kurt and grohl and the other guy
and the chili peppers gave him a couple lines in california-cation
come as you are, as you were...
im so happy, cause today i found my friends...
and kurt
in this day of britney spears and boy bands
someone misses you...

Reason for writing:

lets be honest. i used to be a rap fan till i listened to q101 here in chicago. i cashed in on listening to nirvana for the first time.if i was lying, i'd say the first nirvana song i heard was "smells like teen spirit"
but that was lithium. people can claim to love nirvana, but the simple fact is, i caught them too late- now they are a distant memory on the horizon of rock
