twisted

by Bedwyr Mclean - Leo

stomach, twisted up in knots again,
blood, pounding through my head again,
cannot get my fingers clean,
lost inside a faded dream,
cast adrift, on a tide of rising red,
seen her before, so gorgeously vile,
washed away by a wave of bile,
fingernails stained deepest crimson,
spirit captured, vocal prison,
ancient, jagged, broken cliff,
broken body, claret spilled,
staggers on by force of will,
left, right, left...up until,
the sweet release of searing lead,
enchants us, holds us, keeps us,
in undeath
