tread

by Bedwyr Mclean - Leo

lack of trust, it's a sign
betrayed, betrayed, too many times
tread the path, feel the earth
conceited smile, perverted smirk
oh it's not me, they say again
it's time we all stopped playing games
black as coal, dark as light
grind the stone, sharp the knife
push it down and feel it sink
twist of dagger, turn of wrist
they blend together...oh so smooth
the blood is sprayed on walls and roof
of my own mouth, taste the flesh
hold on, it's still drawing breath
magus black, zombie night
poor existence, faded life
soon the debt will be collected
ancient mem'ries ressurected
untried youth, needs be tested
find a priest that will not bless this
charnel house of timeless bliss
