Sat In Shallow Waters

by Phil Yarborough - Aquarius

Jesus Christ only knows,
What I do when I'm out my car,
I swim into shallow waters
But never swim out too far.
And if the sky should divide,
And swallow me up whole,
I'll land in shallow waters,
But not waters that only scold.

I've seen your tree and it don't sing
Just looks at me when I look red,
And showers me with leaves
That leave me with what I've said.
And if the ground should divide
And swallow me up in one
I'll land beneath your branches
But all my words are gone.

Cloud nine has a cushioned seat,
With my name engraved upon the arm,
I'll float up high on my soft cloud
At peace, at one, so calm.
And if the seas should divide,
And swallow me up altogether,
I'll land on my cushioned seat,
Floating like a feather.

I'm sat in shallow waters,
I'm sat beneath your tree,
I'm sat upon cloud nine
All good things come in three,
Look at me, knelt at my holy shrine,
Preying to the God I see in the mirror,
The God I know as me.
