shadows dancing

nightfall till dawn they twirl
heat shining down on them 
forever reflected, in the world that only they live in
the life they have languished in is forgotten
as they look at each other and dance it hits me
they are together
and it occurs to me 
together alone
they are the main couple
on the dance floor 
but i and the rest of the people in the club who came for a good time 
we have no shame as we gawk
we watch them in amazement
but we have no choice
as it becomes obvious that these aren't two people 
these are shadows dancing
forever in the nightlight
