Innocense

by Pamela Sweat - Cancer

Innocense

Gods precious gift
A small figure of
an adult
With a mind ready
to explore
Eyes eager to see
everything
Repeating words heard
by ears constantly
listening and aborbing
The quickest of hands
A crawl to a walk
A cry to a word
The most sinless of all
people
Still many years to go
Perfect as is
Lifes soulful being in a
furturistic sense....

Reason for writing:

I'm 25 and had a daughter 2 1/2 years ago. I wrote the poem in June of 97 during my pregnancy. My experience with doctors, ultra sounds and various developements prompted oneself to write about this special person that I am anticipating. When looking back at this poem and comparing it to now, my daughter truely does fit the description.
