Las Vegas

by FireFly - Libra

Leopard skin covered couches-
Dry Martini on the expensive glass table-
Cowboy hat, Elvis sunglasses-
Rabbit fur coat, and leather pants-
Urban Cowboy, howling inside for answers-

She purred under his hand-
Her mascara smeared-
On red lipstick kisses-
A longing for more, lingered in her-
Withdrawn expressions-

Won and lost money from gambling-
Long night at each table-
Lady luck beside him-
Vegas gave him the symphonic colored light-
Blessings-

Desert Oasis-
Sin city, a state next to Mormon country-
Gangsters fittingly started its history-
Money, money, money-
Sex, sex, sex,-
Yeah, he was tired-
Just tired-

He slipped a smoke between his lips-
Zippo click, flame that lit his addictions-
She reached out-
To enjoy his cancer stick-
He couldn’t tell her what he was thinking-
His father told him, a woman’s venom strikes-
When a man’s skin isn’t thick enough-
For his own protection-

Alone though she’s so close and warm-
He reached out and kissed her for the first time-
In a long time-
She left her conscience and felt his fear-
He listened to her emotions move into him-

Goodnight to Las Vegas's bouncing life-
He had so many reasons to leave-
But not one good enough to leave her-
