Crossed the Threshold

by FireFly - Libra

Crossed the threshold-
To be finger pointed-
Find the fault-
And you’re silenced-
You’ve become the turncoat-
Nothing new-
A simple gesture-
That’s misconstrued-

Though you were heard-
The meaning of it-
Became unsure-
Who’s going to get sued-
Even as you’ve gotten-
Closer to the truth-
And if you decide to bite it-
You’ll have to suck it up-
And then you’ll need therapy-
To criminalize it-
Do you give in?
Even as you’ve gotten-
Closer to the truth-

You’ve heard the choices-
Just morsels to moisten you’re mouth-
But you are no more a pawn-
If you give in-
To the role you’ve been handed down-
But the truth is-
You never really gave a dam-

Crossed the threshold-
In one hand you hold the arrows-
Crossed the threshold-
In the other-
A lost tomorrow-
