Light and love one summer day Met me over life's darkest way Love faltered and was not to say Light smiled and was not to say If I couls bask in your beautiful glow I feel that astray I will never go Light could not smile at what you had done But said, "Its the warmth I caught from the sun." While I cast the glow overyou only for fun I fain from her mischeif gladly would run But I could never leave you in the dark hour of woe Unless some sympathy love I bestow I know oof the dangers that lie ahead And hear of joy where my glory is shed But when a poor heart is discontent Who can but me rob her of her bed Look up love, and smile, then bid darkness fly You won't find many friends as happy as I And after that day, love's beautiful smile Nor the rich and the poor of life's sunny isle Brought joy or sadness of all the while Keep singing of love time and traveling each mile "Where darkness would linger I bid here begone." For the dark hour is always before the brightness of dawn.
