I wish I could tell you how important you really are to me I wish I could admit that you’re important But most of all I wish I could repay you for all you’ve done This is the time that I’m needing you the most The time I need you by my side And promising that you’ll always be there I need you here To talk me through the long nights on the phone Listening to my parents scream at eachother Ready to rip off their own heads To walk with me in the lightening storms Trying to urge me back inside Prevent me from going off on myself To convince me that I’m needed Loved and cared for Make me see that my life has meaning To take me by the hand and show me what it means to love What it means to trust someone And to show that you care To take the knife out of my hand And say that things will get better That you’re by my side Only then can I see That I really do have someone in my life Willing to sacrifice everything just to keep me straight Make sure that I don’t fall I don’t want to lose it I don’t want to go off the edge But I’m so tempted Please take me by the hand Tell me who I am.
Reason for writing:
I'm finally telling people what happened to me a week ago, and each time I do, they tell me that if I need them, that they'll be there. And I'm hoping to God that they keep their promises because I need the strength to go through this.
