an angel is within touching distance i reach to touch your wing but it disappears in a cloud of smoke desolation sets in and i begin to cry you entered my life and set it straight but i am still crooked you saved me and gave me all i wanted and i feel sadness no more a life preserver you tossed me, a feeling of total rescue comes over me and i am calm my friend angel, i thank you for helping me see that maybe life isn't as bad as i thought its better for i am the one i dance at night because i can i talk with my friends because i can enter sandman but you are here i must walk with you for even as i speed through adolescense and my teen years shutter like a three-a.m. nightclub you and all the others are here with me i thank god i let you enter my life
