That One Friday Night

by Chris Delahanty - Taurus

The girl I met on that cold winter day, I won’t soon forget.
She was so beautiful in every way, my heart almost stopped when I first saw her.
Her eyes as green as jade, her skin as soft as silk.
Her smile shined like the moon, her hair was like rays of sunshine.
She looked like an angel to me, her beauty came from the light in her heart.
I’ve never met a woman as unique as her that ever cared for me like she has.
No woman has ever kissed me the way she did on that Friday night.
But I still regret the way that night turned out in the end.
Why didn’t I think ahead? I should have known better.

I don’t know if I’ll ever see her again ever since what happened that night.
Sorrow and anger again take over, as the wounds on my heart turn to scars.
On that night when she was taken away, a part of me was murdered and sent back to hell.
She brought out the best in me, made all my troubles fade away.
Now it seems as though all we had is lost, because of that one Friday night.

Reason for writing:

I had met an incredible woman that I know that I could end up falling in love with. On a friday night I messed it all up in a way and I don't even know if she's mad at me or what.
