Spiral Notebook

by Heather Williams - Libra

Twelve hours ago I was wishing you away
George's "Freedom" rang throughout my ears
I hid from you and took the long way in the cold
Ran away to the library that later caved in
I wrote you a note saying "I'm sorry I do not love you"
I wrote that note in blue cursive and I didn't
Trim off the edges as I ripped it from
My spiral notebook
How impersonal can one person be?
You still waited for me and you still drew that
Fucking butterfly and a sad face with tears
I crumpled up the note because YOU DO NOT LOVE ME
And how dare you think I could love you
You forgot I forgot how to love
