Indian Summer

by E. Alonzo - Sagittarius

I don't feel the need to question the course of these days
The answers we find would on steer us away from the nights
There appears no need for any sudden movements on this cloud
The vibrations would only alter the birth of this memory
I see the consequences that block the road up ahead
Arrogance is our only lasting strengths, so we should press on.
Why bother to remove our glittered masks of selfishness now?
This masquerade will be a time worth remembering forever.
I don't need to know your reasons, so I will not share mine
It is too late to worry about each other's fragile states of minds
We are who we are, not the ones who we were
It's too late to reach back for the respect we once shared.
We take advantage of each other's needs for the greater good
The greater good we no longer should have claim to
We were best friends, and we will lose that when all is done
Nothing more to say, nothing more to feel, nothing more….
But this opportunity may be a time worth remembering….
We can give it a name to recognize, since we wont recognize each other.
We can call it our Indian Summer.

Reason for writing:

It is good to have the person you are with be your friend first, but sometimes friendship is all it should have been in the first place.
