You Will Love Me You can wrap your hand around these words of mine Turn a cheek and toss them into oblivion Like autumn does with summer You can watch them swirl and tumble Out your hand like leaves of a shaking tree Under the command of current times You can step on them with your boots As you pace in life roundabout like sunset And hear them crack like leaves between their every breath You can forget them as they brown And dig their souls in the dirt In hibernation like the wildest of predators. You can do all this and welcome another in And call me your closest friend without the close Like history does for winter's mood. See, you don't see the movement you create With that toss of words, like pebbles in a pond. You have brought to life a strong presence of life When you buried them to grow at your heal Itching with passion and conviction To prove to you their magnificence and splendor Of what they say, mean and promise They will sprout and transcend their seed Into your mind and heart in a wave A wave that travels the pace of honey For you to soak in like a warm spring And taste just as sweet Words you think only glide in a wind Like leaves and subtle the same way Will soon flower in your recollections Words you once tossed for the dust Will soon blanket the world you live In colors you only dreamt about before. Words you saw to fall a forgotten death Will rise again when you guard surrenders And your stubbornness subsides to hunger Words you tore into pieces with your carelessness Will spread like fire off embers And will rise in a pointed blaze These words you let sleep and store energy Will come back marching like sunrise And you will hear them again Bouncing off hillsides and oceans And clouds and atmospheres These words echo off the drums Of your favorite wishlist of songs That ring in your conscience And you will concede to the melody Like all do for the call of summer.
