His Cage Of Rage

by Tracey - Aries

Your emotions they go from up to down,
You sometines smile , but mostly frown.
You take each day on the edge,
His promises to you are just a pledge.
You do no right in his book,
He's the one who should take a good look.
It's either his way or no way at all,
He knocks you down, you take the fall.
You get back up without a smile,
He'll only be like this for a while.
The rage you see it in his eyes,
He says he'll change but never tries.
Even petty things he throws a fit,
So the longer you stay the worse it gets.
You cover the marks so they won't show,
People aren't dumb they still know.
He's jealous, obsessive, abusive, and mean,
Same old story, different scene.
You can read him like a book so it's time to turn the page,
For only you hold the key to his cage of rage.

Reason for writing:

A survivor of domestic abuse. To help those in abusive
relationships that it's ok to make a new start.
