Tears From The Moon

by Chelle Wood - Cancer

I stand at the precipice
searching the heavens
for answers
to questions I can only feel
But all I see before me
is the tears from the moon
raining down on a velvet sky
They sparkle and glitter
and give me something to hope for
One tear falls
and I make a wish
with my eyes closed tight,
my hands outstretched,
reaching toward a face that is no longer there
Another falls
and the mystery slips
further from my grasp
My mind is full of the memory
that once was you
But I open my eyes
and all I see
is the tears from the moon

Reason for writing:

"Tears..." was inspired by a work of art titled, "For Kenny" by an artist whom I know only as Silver. It is truly incredible and touched me deeply and I felt compelled to write something worthy. I'm not quite sure this is adequate enough, but thus far it is the best I could do. If you wish to view "For Kenny", you can see it at http://www.cometosilver.com/kenny.htm. So, this is for you Silver, in remembrance of Kenny...and also for Aunt Joan in memory of Uncle Gene...May his star always shine the brightest in Heaven...
