I call it Meaningless Love

by Zejid Halvadzic - Gemini

It all began in the year 1992,
At the time of war between Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia,
We met in Croatia,
To me it was love at first sight.

With all the crises around us,
There was no time for love.

It is shame for our destinies to take us separate ways,
We never knew where our destinies were taking us,
Nor did we know that our destinies might cross again.

Sooner than we thought we met again,
England in the year 1993,
A small town called Cambridge.

We became very close friend’s back then,
Although I was hopping for more,
I still remember the way we use to play games.

I moved to another town
In the year 1994
Wolverhampton is the name,
We still seen each other now and then,
But our passion and desire for love slowly faded away,
I wrote letters and Valentine cards,
But you never replied.

It was only when I called you,
You would speak to me,
But as I called you more often,
I could feel the desire in you voice fading away,
I suppose it was about time to do so,
Since neither of us made a move.

I believe it was the fear of love that kept us away from one another,
Now our shines keep us from talking to each other,
There is only one thing that I ask of you,
Tell me the way you felt abut me back then.

Whether you choose to or not to I cannot tell any more,
You changed a lot by leaving the past behind you and moving forwards,
Where as I still sit in the past wishing that I did things different way,
The way that it would suit me,
How selfish of me.

Reason for writing:

Don't leave things to the last minute, and don't say you haven't got the time because you should be making it. Otherwise you'll never know what you have missed out on.
