Like Flowing Water

by Jack deCongo - Capricorn

The first note eases itself
slowly into the wind
Like the first wonderful drop
that melts into the ground
and begins the path for the rest
to follow
And as it goes on the next one
comes along smoothly
and together they flow
along their swaying path
climbing up difficult slopes
and gliding down others
winding around potential obstacles
painting a picture in the mind so clear
and significant
it's more wonderful than a vision
It's beyond
It stirs emotion directly
and that part of you
that craves for sustenance
for existence
rides with each drop of a note
the rhythm of the art
beating with your own heart
O what a wonderful ride
You ride the current
through its highs and lows
each peak and each valley
you encounter is like
a drop of dew in the morning
a ray of sunlight on a dreary day
that smile when all around you see anger and sadness
a powerful climax to life
And for an endless second it becomes your life
Then downward it goes faster
gushing like the blood in your veins
until it reaches the end
where it meets the rest of the notes in the world
A held intonation
An infinite caress
A moment lost in time
