Silk and Water in Newborn Skin

by FireFly - Libra

Fire seen thru two black eyes-
Fighting all night long-
With his torn garment in my hand-
Now, now you say she’s your baby-
Carelessly misplacing those words-
In between the bed sheets-
And blood stains-

Tactics with flying fists-
I’ve checked my senses-
On the quick, I am-
Sharper and younger, I am-
The hunters going after the kill-
Thru this exchange of bittersweet mischief-

The ghostly footsteps-
To this victory or defeat-
To this forgettable end-
Is meditation-
Before the change-

And in twilight-
The hard edges and cold violence-
Once seen as damage-
Becomes easy as silk and water-

Silk and water-

Silk and Water-
Chances for passion in the starlight-
Silk and Water-
Drives the wanderlusts from stranger eyes-
Into lover's nights-
Silk and Water-
With each day looking like-
A long way off-
You’re no longer the rubber ball-
Bouncing and hanging for dear life-

Now your feeling the morning pale sun...again-
This time in newborn skin-
