If I kissed you... (v2.0)

by Traveler - Aries

If I kissed you just right...
Would you feel the things I've seen?
Could I push this feeling out?
Would you know just where I've been?

I'd start on your cheek,
Your skin soft and smooth,
Work slowly to your lips,
Make no sudden move.

When I reached them, red and full,
And pressed against them...
Would you start to know?
This passion for life within
That I need so much to show.

Would you see my first love?
That little girl in first grade class.
Didn't know why she sent me spinning.
Who would know you could fall so fast?

Would you hear my mother call?
While we hide down by the stream.
A thing so trivial as dinner
Won't interrupt this frog-pond dream.

Would you feel the fear I held?
Bike pointing down that hill.
A fear that's now addiction...
Always looking for that next thrill.

Would you see darkness all around?
A crash landing with the earth.
Snapped collarbone and shoulder blade...
Oh...
And three cracked ribs, for that's worth.

Would you go to that room in France?
A converted garage, not even a flat.
Two surfboards and a backpack...
I needed nothing more than that.

Would you walk stone streets of Mundaca?
Night shadows blend with hashish dreams.
That place, it held my soul...
Ten thousand years old, or so it seems.

Would you swim in the tropics?
Vibrant smell of crushed coral all around.
Would you go when I pushed off the ledge?
Three stories high... heavy water... falling... straight down.

Would you roll underwater for what seemed hours?
Ocean's fury holding us in its grip.
Scratching for the light above
Trying to not let last breath slip.

Would you then know this life I've lived?
A thousand lives packed into one.
Or would you think,
"That's nice, that's pretty good,
But there's that other boy...
that rich guy's son..."

Reason for writing:

I used to live the life of a pauper, saving every penny
for world travel. Some girls understood this, some didn't.
