Forbidden Love

by Aquarius - Aquarius

She walks along the beach as the waves brush across her feet. The water chills her body but she only feels the heat. Her lover is behind her now, her paranoia grows stronger. She knows her face won't hide this much longer.
The joy he brings her can never compare to the pain she feels at home. His kisses caress her and she is never left alone. Now she begins her walk, back to the prison she's forced to bear. Sorrow and pain, she knows, is all she'll find there. Her fear of life clashes with her desire to live. She doesn't know how to recieve, only how to give.

He watches from a distance as she goes on her way. He wishes he could reach her when there's nothing left to say.
The pain in her eyes brings tears to his soul. He knows in his heart that he could make her whole. Her voice is calming to the chaos of his mind. He feels this is love they have come to find. He catches his breath as the wind sends a chill through his spine. He drifts into the thought, oh when will she be mine. Another night, he knows, he'll spend alone again. Through the air of the night, his love to her he sends.

A love so perfect but it cannot be pure. It's a forbidden pleasure without a cure. They'll go on loving behind hidden doors. They'll dance under stars along their seashore. But true happiness won't come until she learns to be strong. Her life cannot be fulfilled until she rights this wrong. How many nights will she walk alone in the dark. How long before she'll realize the true home for her heart. Two lonely souls will someday become one. If they learn to dance in the light of the sun.

Reason for writing:

I think about all the loves lost because people couldn't let go long enough to realize that their true companion is right under their nose.
