What is it you see in me, I'm just the girl next door? How am I different from the girls you've met before? Is it the way I look? Lord knows what all you see! Is it my laugh, my smile, or maybe my personality? I don't have a clue, so please come out and say. For whatever it is, I'll try to stay that way. I will not change a thing, just to keep you by my side. You can see my heart through my eyes, where else is it to hide? I'm left here in the dark. I'll ask again once more. Could you tell me what you love about the girl next door?!
Reason for writing:
I wrote this when I couldn't see what my boyfriend loved about me. He reassured me of the reasons after I gave him this poem!
