grandmother and alzheimer's

by Lindsay Ann - Gemini

grandma, what would you do if you knew you weren't the same
grandma, would you cry knowing you dont know my name
i ask that you'd be healed. i pray to God all the time
cause i can't see the point of living in a body with no mind
grandma, what's in your head?
do you feel frustrated?
or has it gone on so long
that everyone else just seems wrong
grandma what would you say if you knew you didn't bathe today
and only if you knew that you though grandpa was cheating on you
cause i have never met a man with more courage than his
to watch the love of his life slip through his fingertips

grandma it's okay. i'll try not to worry
cause i know you are safe. i'll always have the memories
i'll remember baking cakes
i'll remember spending the night
i'll remember playing cards
i'll remember catching butterflies
   always remember catching butterflies
