Before It Tore

by Eric. D - Pisces

Such a strain to smile in this world full of hate.
Stuck in a state of mind so hard to escape.
Where do I turn back,
when all I see is black?
A bright flame lights the way,
but it's still dark in my mind.
In this place, I have to stay,
since the way back I can not find.
This place I thought I once knew.
Long ago light used to shine through.
A crack of light shows little hope.
I once reached to the top of it all.
Everything started to tear including my rope.
I watched everything from above begin to fall.
Where do I turn from here,
when all the trails lead to the same place as before?
I once understood when it all seemed so clear.
I just wish I could have tied a knot of hope, before it tore.
