Longing Heart By: Jeffrey Lazaro Far away in my mind and heart I stand alone in the center. Looking from every direction Not knowing if someone else May be with me in my journey. I sigh and frown At the peace before me. Wanting only another To talk to about anything, But again my companion is silence. Time passes and elapse And still no sign of a friend. I now sit and stare At the barren wasteland That is part of my heart Over and over again. Feelings of melancholy Seep in to keep me imprisoned. Not wanting to take a chance On my so called escape, To the great, joyful land In my oppressed mind. If only I had another To help me through the path. Someone to love me Truthfully and knowingly Like the way I would. Only then will my desert Be fertile with life All likely through true love.

I wrote this poem because of the way people interpret life before love.
