“Fairy Love” By: Jeffrey Lazaro It was a night like no other that my love and I have shared. The stars were sparkling brightly and the moon was illuminating the very sky that I now call unfair and uncaring to this very day. It was the night when my heart bared its love for judgement and the night when my love left me so to weep and mourn for a loss that I dare not say. The tale of my melancholy begins at the eerie sight of the setting sun that leads to the unbecoming silence of twilight. My love and I were at the garden of flower beds, were we laid still enjoying the romantic night scenery under a great moonlight. It was as if you were looking at the great Overon and Titania lovingly staring at each others eyes while emitting passion and lust in a great kiss. So too did we share a kiss of full bliss and utter contentment not even lacking the electricity that flows through the body when in love. Every moment that I looked in to my fairy princess’ eyes always did I see love and joy glowing within her soul blinding me from the truth hidden inside. It was those very lips of hers and her powers to soothe that had me fooled to think not of what I would eventually lose. The well lit moon was now at the center of the dark blue sky surrounded by the everlasting stars up high telling every fairy that it was now midnight. In that moment of great magical serenity my love took me by the hand and whispered in to my ear that we were to take flight at that very moment. Slowly we flew through the air up above away from the wonderful garden that held such love. Dancing and silently painting with glee for the various colours of the wind to see. In the midst of celebrating happiness tears began to fall from the beautiful face of my sweet and sad soul mate. An unwelcomed smile crept upon me and an unbearable thought plagued my mind. To me her tears symbolized her happiness, although the truth was quite the opposite, I was too blind to see what was to be seen. Quickly my tiny mouth opened and regrettable words suddenly came out. I confessed my undying love for her and spoke of my unpracticed vows. A grin slowly formed on her face and a look of understanding was visible. It was then that horrifying words came from my lovely princess who was my world. My heart began to break with the news that was presented before me. I stood their aghast with tears on my face and a broken heart that can never be replaced. With a last kiss goodbye my supposed soul mate unhappily left me with my misery. And with a memory of a night that will always lead to my immense pain and melancholy.
