Whatever happens to you Stand up tall and see it through. If you see a cliff and feel like jumping, Find someone or find something. Take it from me, you can't do it alone. You are in the darkness and there you'll roam Until you find the door, the light, And then you'll need to walk with all your might. When you reach it, when you get there, You'll realise it's not all bad and you do care About life, yourself and everyone around you. You may not admit it, but you do. You can not stay in the place you are, Otherwise you'll keep falling and go too far. I know, trust me, you won't stop - you'll tumble Into oblivion and life around you will crumble. Please, stand up tall and see it through, As someone cares, you don't believe it but they do.
Reason for writing:
A friend of mine was clinically depressed and I had been there though no one really knew that I had, I needed to help her but didn't want to intrude in her private space like evryone was doing. I wrote her this poem and slipped it under her door, she told me months later it really helped- she still has a copy in her diary.
