rainbow bridge

by Jonas Paltor - Leo

behind her eye's
her spirit cries
troubled soul
behind a cheap disguise

her smile; her laugh
shields of her heart
when her backs turned
they tear her apart

she's heard the words
whispers of pain
she feels relief
in the solitude of rain

under the bridge
beside a fire
she drinks to herself
altered reality her desire

hungover and broken
she longs to be free
she follows her rainbow
her bridge to the sea

a better place
the pastor will say
but where is she really
if not with us today

trying to save her
i only prolonged the pain
try as i might
some how i'm left stained

maybe i'll join her
a victim of society
preventing her death
was my one priority

now i feel the solitude
she loved so deeply
my turn to chase rainbows
together we'll be free
