Sometimes they say that sticks and stones Can cause your bones to break But words unkindly said to you Should not a difference make But thoughtless words decry the spirit And diminish self-esteem Disparaging comments often spoken Simply to demean It isn’t just the things that’s said Or the choice of words that’s used But how they’re spoken to another That makes them feel abused Once verbalized you can’t take back Those statements made so wrongly And to those for whom these words were meant They feel the pain so strongly It’s always such a senseless act For a fool to speak a word Because he knows not what he says He’s much better seen than heard When words are used to hurt another They’re better off not said So if you can’t say something nice Say none of them insteadBirth sign: Virgo
