In Her Grip

by Elisa Hinson - Aquarius

Mindy grips
The wheel tightly
And asks me
If she is heading
In the right direction
I know we are not
Talking highways here
She is asking for
Clarity
Begging for a bit
Of my telepathic
Insight
Hoping I will do it
Just one more time
So I give her all
I know
Draining myself
To the point of
Exhaustion until
She closes her eyes
Lights a cigarette
And smiles
Satisfied once again

Reason for writing:

    someone i can never deny
