daddy dearest

by sasha - Aries

Daddy dearest why do you alway yell
daddy dearest why cant you tell
when you drink how mean you become
your family is zero silch silm to none
you never think of us nor do you care
when you pass out on the bar floor
and mommy is yelling at you and all the people stare
daddy dearest why dont you work
instead of mommy holding down four jobs
just to keep us off welfare
daddy dearest why do you blacken her eye
when she tries so hard daddy why
why do you punch holes in the wall
of our house do you even care at all
why do you call mommy names and throw her to the floor
mommy's not a bitch, a slut or a whore
its you daddy that is bad you are the one doing wrong
its not us it was you all along
dont you realize how scared of you we are
when you come home late at night after spending all day at the bar
daddy dearest who is that other woman that comes over when mommy is at work
why do you lock us up in the room and tell us to behave and shut up
I dont understand all we want is you love
maybe a kiss on the cheek or a little hug
daddy dearest what could we say
when you would drunk and waste our lives away
you know mommy knows about the other woman and it wasnt me who told
she saw you that night at the bar, in the car bundled up we sat she watched you it was soooo cold
you were kissing the woman on her young lips
mommy held the gun and your life on her finger tips
the trigger she pulled and to the ground you and your lover fell
daddy dearest it wont be me who will tell
the police that it was mommy who shot you
and the woman that ruined our family
you shouldnt have done what you did
because you drove her to do what she had to do
you hurt her and your life she took
never once did she look
back when she drove off into the winter night
your blood on her hands and the gun in the seat
she smiled at us and turned up the heat
and promised that everything would now be alright
