Last Dance

Last Dance
By: Ann M. Hampton

I'm looking up at the starts,
And wondering if you are too;
It kind of makes me feel a bit blue,
That I'm not there with you.

I found out today,
That you "only want to be friends,"
But I want you to know,
My love for you will never end.

I'm sorry for all that has happened,
And for making you feel blue,
And now I know how you feel
Because I once did that to you.

They say that life is a circle,
Without a beginning or an end,
And what you do to others,
Comes back to you in the end.

My only regret is that I didn't give you a chance,
But I'll always remember that you were my "Last Dance."
For I only danced with yoiu and had the "Time Of My Life,"
And for that I'll always be grateful and will always
remember you for the rest of my life.

I'll wish upon a falling star,
And pray that God watches over you,
And I hpe that you'll forgive me,
For doing that to you.

Reason for writing:

    Closure in a ending relationship
