If Only I Knew

by Phil Yarborough - Aquarius

If Only I Knew

If only I knew,
Why I stuck by you,
Through all the shit, and I’m still here
Knowing your fate and my fate too.

I know your past, and you’re a whore,
You’ve fucked me around and one thing’s for sure,
I’m wise to your games, and now you should know
You’ve lost me now, because I’m worth more

Don’t kill yourself over me,
Because I’m worth more than that,
Downing pills just like your sister,
And look where you’re both at.

You had a good thing, but now I’m gone,
And your life has gone to pot,
But if you say you need my love,
I’d rather let my heart rot

Because “I’m soft”, but you don’t know me,
Or what goes on inside my mind,
I treat you decent, but you’re too thick,
To see my intensions of being “kind”

Because I’m all false pretences,
But they make you feel all right,
I slipped with you, and my mind got clouded
If only I knew,
I did but not quite.
