The time is near - so close it seems And yet, still far away While in your mind you contemplate The arrival of that day You picture how it all will go Every detail is alive Your excitement teems with energy For when it does arrive From now ‘till then - how will you cope So anxious are you now But you planned it all so carefully The who, when, where and how With all the preparations made So endless is the wait And your nerves begin to come apart As you anticipate Not known to be a patient one This has been hard for you But knowing that it’s worth the wait Has helped to get you through The day has come - but will for you Provide so much dismay Since the event you looked so forward to Took place just yesterday
