Harvard law

by Lust - Aquarius

You sit there in your grey overcoat
you have nothing to say you just gloat
what did I do that was so bad
to make you hate me dad
I never had a life the books where my only friends
college applications and academic programs
thats how I spent my youth
tell me dad what did I do that was so bad
I fell in love is that why you hate me
or is it because of the child that grows inside
Im such an embarassment you want to throw me away and hide
this child that is a part of you
you call me worthless and a shame
Im sorry father if I didnt follow the rules of your game
Staight A’s was all I could give
It was you who held my life and never allowed me to live
I had to be home by eight
yelled at and cursed if I was a little late
You say you only wanted the best for me
then just let me be
stop putting me down and dont disown me
just hug me and tell me that I have your love regardless
of the mistakes I had made
Harvard law will have to wait
but I will go back
Calm down and relax
Im your daughter not some stranger on the street
Dont look at me like that , such hatred in your heart
I made a mistake and thats that
You say nothing you just stare
Please father give me a chance
and this unborn baby please dont glare
and please dont hate him
it wasnt his fault
Im the one who did wrong
I dont expect your sympathy or money
just your love thats what I wanted all along
