I wish I knew you as a child

by Dawn - Aquarius

First a small comment : Not a poem!

I wish I knew you as a child.
Inside, they are yelling, Wallowing in the hell they have created. Outside, I see you standing leaning on my tree, holding a net. I smile. You smile.

I come to you. You take me by the hand and together we walk down accross the street. Cut through the neighbors yard and run to the park.

The park has been left unattend. The grass has gotten knee high. The wild flowers are in full bloom, and yet there is beauty.

We pick the wild flowers and throw them up in the air and let the beauty rain down on us. you catch a butterfly and put it in my hair and say "She looks like you. A free wonderfull butterfly. Fresh out of a dark gloomy cacoon." You take my hands and together we spinn around and around and fall like a big heep to the ground. We bond. We kiss.

We are not at fault. We are the birth of something new and fresh. The wind hugs us, the blessings of God welcome us. We are born again and this fresh new world, with its bright new surrounds will guide us in the right way to forget the hell and welcome the tranquility as life is meant to be.

Reason for writing:

Living in a home built on chaos and alcoholism is like burning in hell. Being a child of alcoholics this is my life long dream. It is the life long dream of all adult children of alcohlics, simply to have peace of mind.
