Drinking Tea, Watching Snow Fall

by Heather Williams - Libra

It wasn't really an unordinary day
I woke up earlier than I thought I would
Played some darts and ate some lunch
Tonight I just sat in front of this machine
That connects me to my future
Although I cannot see it right now
I know it is out there
So now I sit
Drinking tea, watching the snow fall
And listeing to this great Dave Matthews Band song
Looking forward to all the people I get to see in school
Grateful that I have reasons to get up in the morning
To go socialize and then go to a good job
With good people
So I can just come home and look at my future
And crawl into bed and let the warmth surround me
As I watch the Golden Girls and think about
How I used to watch this when I was little
With my grandmother laying on the bear blanket
And drinking hot chocolate out of the Dough Boy cup
My thoughts come back to me and life is better
Than it was an hour ago
