Fear Of Heights (not what you think)

by Nicole M. - Gemini

That pedestle that they through you on
It's more that you can take
Cursing and pumping your fist at them
But a difference it will not make.

So why are you so affraid of heights?
Up there, you're all alone
No longer another face in the crowd.
You're singled out
Equaling a much better target.

And this fear is coming out as anger,
No?
Is it that you hate the expectations
Forced upon you
Feeling obligated to someone
Other than yourself
You never asked and didn't want.
Just stood out in the crowd
That was all.

All your crying and cursing
Won't get you anywhere.
The reason why is because
You're so far up
And frankly, no one cares.
We're all standing on pedestles somewhere else.
You surpass a set of standards
And this is the price you have to pay.
To be a little less selfish
And live up to your potential.
