I stood there in the studio listening Watching him sing that song I’ve heard a thousand times before Over and over… that I can’t get out Of my brain for whatever reason I’m overcome with sway ness And my mind is swimming with those words That won’t leave me they stay with me like Clouds, once you’ve heard it you heard it A million times over.. In your head.. I sink to the floor of the studio Close my eyes and try not to provoke The spirit of the song anymore that it has I am peacefully sleeping of other things That might be thought provoking to him Maybe another song he might be interested in singing As I am sunk to the floor of the studio Lying there eyes closed I feel an arm An arm that is draped over me The presence is warm and comforting I wonder who it might be Is it other than him or maybe an animal? Perhaps another being? My eyes open to find it is he The one who sang that song Over and over yes it was he The song that wouldn’t leave me The song that wouldn’t die It was he We sit on the floor of the studio Talking on several topics His plans for the summer After a while he suggests we Go somewhere and talk about Something else, I say either tea or vodka Vodka it is.. a mixture of tea? Something like tea and vodka The day is rainy so we go and drink vodka instead of tea Thus this is the essence of a studio on a rainy day…
