Death Among Us

by Earl A. Banks - Leo

There is death among us in ways we do not know
Passing us by from day-to-day
Waiting for someone to make the wrong move
A victim it will surely slay

There is death among us in ways we do not see
Naturally blind as a newborn at birth
When it finally comes time for you to go
You start to appreciate what life is worth

There is death among us in ways we fear most
By way of drugs, guns, and disease
If we continue to use these destructive weapons
Mankind as we know it will cease

Reason for writing:

    Everyday life.
