Town Streets

by caseyj - Libra

Living in the same town
for 18 years
You see so many changes that happen
From the changing of lights
To the changing of businesses
From the changing of people
To the changing of the Population
A small town 18 years ago
About 2000 people
Now 10000 or more
Brings many memories
When you were known by everyone
To when your known by only a few
That have been here
Long enough to know you
From day one

The violence starts adding
The Crime starts increasing
When the local paper
Only had 3 or 4 police reports
Now it takes half a page

It makes you stop and think
When you try and cross the main street
That takes you 5 minutes or more
Because of the passing cars
How it only took a few footsteps
Within a Minute
To reach the final destination
Across the streets in town.
