Frostbit Chains

by Samantha - Scorpio

I've risen from these waters
Walking on water as if gravity did not exist
I didn't want to fight
Yet was forced to put up arms
I didn't want to see
Yet was forced not to become blind
Pushed in all directions
I gave up
Lost hope
Died among the flames
You wouldn't let me go
(Set me free from the frostbit chains engulfing me
and my freedom)
The fatal goodbye was all that was left
in my mind
No way out
of the madness
pertruding through closed doors
and self built walls
I had no choice but give it all
with the risk of losing everything and everyone and myself
Which I did in fact lose
                         (I lost everything
                          including you)
I was alone
dissillusioned of a world constructed of the tears of long ago
The past would not escape me
Through the flames of yesterday
You watched me as I fell
holding the invisible rope that prevented me from bleeding all the pain and threats of which I had live
You reached out
Lifted me back up
guided me down the wretched path
and led me to safety
I can finally taste freedom.
