somethings missing

by phillip bligh - Leo

Somethings always missing
a lush forest with no fallen trees
a wool blanket half an inch too short
the love in your eyes

Did those trees rot away
as our love faded
did the blanket shrink
i thought we fit so perfectly together
perhaps your golden smile was just
a reflection of my love for you.

And now it's all gone
but i am sure something was missing
something i thought we had
though i am sure we had something.
