False Dream

by NR - Cancer

I was lying last night in my bed
No one cared if alive or dead
Then in my sleep I could see
A dream has come to visit me

In the dream I saw myself
On a throne higher then the highest shelf
In the dream I had jewels and gold
And I was smart, though not yet old

In that dream I was the king
Choosing destinies with my ring
In that dream my people followed me like a herd
They cared, they loved me, so I’ve heard

In that dream I had a smile
Something I didn’t have for a very long while
In that dream I were happy, I were glad
No more angry, no longer sad

But I knew this dream was false even before it was through
Because in all that lovely dream, there was no you
And without you I’ll never be a happy lad
Without you I’ll forever be lonely and sad

I’m alone now because you’re no longer here
You’re gone forever, so I fear
I guess one day I will smile once more, I don’t know when
Now all I can do is cry, then sleep and dream again

Reason for writing:

    Unreturned love :-(
